Accept the job before crafting for it
The commission board is not just decoration. New commissions are added over time, and active commissions can be reviewed after acceptance. Read the requested attributes before buying components so you do not burn gold on the wrong roll.

Build to the requirement, not to your favorite sword
Commission play is where component differences matter most. Compare your available blades, hilts and guards, then assemble toward the requested characteristics. If a part roll does not support the requirement, save it for a normal retail weapon.

Submit through the chest with the shop open
The demo shows a clear message: your shop must be open to submit to commissions. If the chest or board seems unresponsive, check that state before reloading or assuming a bug.

Treat the deadline as inventory pressure
Commissions have an expiration window in the current demo build. Keep enough gold and display space free that a normal sales cycle cannot trap all your resources while an order is ticking down.
